Black tie is a lovely pearl grey color. It fades unevenly, so removal/reapplication might be necessary.

This shade is just too nude for me to rave about. It hardly shows up on my lips and the thick texture makes it difficult to layer over other products.

I too was disappointed in this. I think perhaps I built up a mythical expectation to this one, it was so rare and hard to get. So pricey on eBay. I put it on and got nothing but a pinky, lilac shimmer...
